The transitional time of fall to winter has regularly required emotional strength, for me. Though I embrace the self-reliant part of my character, I crave for none-loneliness. Holiday traditions are uncommon for me and though I’ve struggled to shift the emotional spectrum, I have been able to find gratitude and perspective by understanding how heavier this time of year may be for others. I say this to offer perspective and shift the way we approach this season, specially during this last year-and-a-half. I for one will try harder to approach the “happy”s and “merry”s by including a sincere,
“How are you?”.

Traditions are a sort of practice, and during this time of year it often includes writing, witnessing, or sharing art. November in part will be preparing physically as I share a piece from my solo show:

As I prepare for this performance, I also explore my own role as dancer and choreographer. One who learns and performs while the other guides and creates. There are several implications, leading to numerous feelings and frustrations on an answer.
