Hi! It’s been a little while, but I find today to be an opportunity to reflect and update.

“Solo, w/ You” summarized my artistic exploration of the self. The identities which make us complex, layered, evolving, different. In this multitude what seems to hold us true, is who we are with. Most of my choreographic journey has been solos unraveling to understand myself. Yet, in these moments a year ago, I learned and saw myself through those in attendance. Those who have held me physically, tenderly, emotionally, patiently.

Much has occurred from that point; including another evening work. Now all is at a pause. Waiting for applications to return with approval, hopefully. Though sometimes they return with a much needed “no”. A “no” that pushes me to make my vision happen regardless. This is where I am now. Conceptualizing.

A solo emerging from a trio, only to develop into a trio anew. I hear a trumpet. I hear echoes. I see bodies interrupt a space from one side to another. A reunion. New relationships. A reveal. Some mystery too, of course.

Ultimately, a year from now I aim to formalize these things for us. Until then, tell me what’s new with you! Let’s catch-up.
