As always, please make time for traffic and parking. The other end of a post-show discussion/talk-back is a conversation between artists who are getting to know each other. This is the case at 630pm, where Maria and I share the space and invite you to navigate this dialogue passively or actively along the surrounding visual art. My previous work* encompassed dancers rotating roles each of the three nights. An investigation of power and excitement in staying open in performance. When I applied for funding, the intent was to expand on motifs from that work. I thread through by (spoiler alert) having Lizzette perform the opening solo on Friday night and Margaret on Saturday. Their own nuances and interpretation of my material is their own and I’m excited of how they invite you in each night.
