A José Update

In the last email update I introduced you to Lavender Daughter,
the band I’ve enjoyed getting to know and work with since December of last year. Their willingness, excitement, and trust have been an enormous gift. Spending time with them individually and collectively has motivated me to reach beyond my comfort zone. Now, I am ecstatic to introduce the dancers I am working with.

Doug Hooker (He/Him)
Doug and I met carpooling for a promo video session back in fall of 2020. Through our short process, he has reminded me of the needed balance to laugh while working professionally. As we get to know each other on and off stage, I am excited to witness and share his energy with Lavender Daughter and Steven.

Steven LaFond (He/Him)
Steven and I connected in fall of 2009 as undergrads at UW-Milwaukee. Considering the creation of this piece, I sought someone who I had developed trust and risk with. After seven years away, we have found ourselves rehearsing back where we met. I am thrilled to crosspollinate the dance communities of Milwaukee and Minneapolis with his help.
